On the New York Times' 'The Interview' podcast, Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) said Netanyahu 'belongs in the Hague' and confirmed an 'active conversation' with NYC's Law Department about arresting him under the 2024 ICC warrant if he attends UNGA in September. Legal scholars call it a 'political stunt' — the US bars local cooperation with the ICC by statute, and even Hungary, an actual ICC member, didn't arrest Netanyahu when he visited in 2025.
